At Morning Song, we walk with daughters of Yeshua who are coming into freedom out of all forms of abuse (physical, emotional, spiritual, financial, and other). We offer an all-embracing range of services to meet the full spectrum of needs experienced by survivors at different stages of their healing journey. This starts with creating a 360-degree healing space – one where her body and soul can unwind – and then simply listening, without judgment, as a survivor shares her story at the pace she’s comfortable telling it.
It extends to affirmation, prayer, conversation, rest, laughter, and soul care. It encompasses trauma-informed spiritual direction: a form of life coaching that invites the Holy Spirit to be present in the conversation in whatever way the person needs at that moment, increasing the person’s ability to hear from and lean on their Heavenly Father. “YHWH is near to all who call upon Him….He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 145:18, 3).
It may include prayer for healing of inner wounds as well as the creation of personalized herbal blends (supplied by our sister shop, Singing Rose) that facilitate physical and energetic restoration of the nervous system. Finally, for survivors who’ve experienced pregnancy or childbirth, it embraces holistic birth and postpartum doula care along with “closing the bones,” a time-honored traditional method of laying on hands for healing.
The end result is not just to get free from abuse and its effects, but to enter a state of shalom: rest, victory, and wholeness!
By partnering with Morning Song’s ministry launch, you’ll enable us to reach our initial goal of ministering personally to two to four survivors a month as GOD brings them into contact with us. Your support enables us to maintain an active internet presence with resources (website, blog, social media, e-books, and more) that survivors and advocates can access anywhere, anytime, at no cost. We hope to purchase videoconferencing software very soon so we can coach women living anywhere in the world without limitations. We’re also in urgent need of an up-to-date laptop and quiet office space with high-speed internet.
Since childbirth happens face to face, we’re requesting travel support so we can go directly to survivors in need of doula care. Pregnant women are the most vulnerable to abandonment or violent abuse, and new mothers are especially at risk of being financially abused. A woman living with an abuser often goes through the emotional events of childbirth and pregnancy loss with zero support (especially if the abuser isolates her from family). If she escapes the abuse in the middle of pregnancy, she may be living out of a suitcase as she contemplates giving birth alone in a strange hospital and learning how to care for her newborn in a DV shelter where she’s on borrowed time.
In addition, your generous support allows us to do two things. One: share a small part of the burden of fellow advocates who provide for the immediate physical and financial needs of abuse survivors. Precious few ministries are dedicated to this work, and they’re massively overloaded. We’d like to be able to meet every woman at the door with some kind of tangible help. Two: pursue excellence in abuse advocacy, trauma-informed coaching, grief support, postpartum care, and inner healing prayer by completing certification trainings, such as those offered by Give Her Wings Academy, Sufficient Grace Ministries, and The Immanuel Approach (created by Dr. Karl Lehman).
